  1. I was hoping for more Bugs Bunny children's records. Do you have anymore of those? Or anymore Hanna Barbera? Thanks, Kimberly

  2. I think I do have a one or two Bugs Bunny, but all of my Hanna Barbera have already been posted. Although I do think I have one more Magilla Gorilla LP, but it is a Golden Record not HBR. I'll have to dig and see what I have left. I'm doing 3 music blogs at once now so I'm trying to trade back and forth amongst the 3. There's another long year ahead of us so we have time yet. We hope..

  3. nice one dave - some of the more obscure disney read alongs!

    ReplyDelete
  4. How about posing the "King Leonardo and His Shprt Subjects" 45?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Sorry. I don't have that one.
    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  6. I can't tell you how much I love read alongs ... I have so many of your previous posts saved. Thank you so very much! I look forward to future postings!

    ReplyDelete
  7. How the heck did you get such good pictures of record jackets?
These records are older than most of the anchors of the Fox network.

    Good job.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Some are my own, and some I found online, and edited.

    Dave

  9. I have the Hobbit book but the record was missing when I bought it.

  10. Hey Dave!

Nice to hear all of your Disneyland read-along books online. I wish we need some more stuff, please!

I have tons of Disneyland LP's in my collection. I'm on YouTube under the name "BrooklynMouse", please check out my channel, they got a lot of good stuff here. Here is the link:

  11. I see you have some more Disney
Read Alongs in store for us, I hope
    we can hear them soon.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I actually have a BUNCH of these on cassette, and I've taken the time to convert them to CD. I haven't done much noise reduction as the program I use to rip stuff can seriously degrade the audio when you use noise reduction. I can get you cassette rips of the following:
    Sleeping Beauty
    Lady and the Tramp
Winnie The Pooh And Tigger Too
    The Aristocats
    Oliver and Company
    The Great Mouse Detective
    Peter And The Wolf
    Who Framed Roger Rabbit

I also have a CD taken from a cassette of a sort of Snow White playset. The tape was just the film soundtrack edited down with a narrator telling the story. It's got music and dialogue from the film soundtrack.

It'll likely be a while before I get them uploaded for you, but it shouldn't be too long. I figured I'd let you know now, though. I'm sure you'll like the quality better, even if some of these tapes have seen better days. ^_^

    ReplyDelete
  13. Joey,

Thanks. Can't wait to hear them all.
    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  14. I would like for the rest of the
Disney Read Along records to be
uploaded on here as soon as
    possible.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I hope you got my e-mail with the link to all the downloads. ^_^

    ReplyDelete
  16. Mr Blog,

I was have the others up as soon as I can. I just got some new Lps i'd been waiting a long time, and the excitement got me side tracked.

    Joey,
Yes I got your links. I was just getting ready to email you a question about them. Thanks.

    Dave

  17. Remember these things! Of course by the 1980's they also printed some of these in cassette form too, but I played with both.

  19. I just wish I still had the full playset from the Snow White Sound and Story Theater. It was REALLY gorgeous and great to play with. There were even the Seven Dwarfs inside, although they were just a cardboard cutout. But I had so much fun playing that cassette tape and playing with the set. But even on its own, it's still a good listen. Just like an expanded version of those storybooks with records/tapes.

  20. Hi Dave!

I just went to the flea market today and I picked up a Disney read-along book called "The Fox and the Hound", but it does have a record on it. You can add it to your site for sharing.

I also saw other Disney read-along books that had books with no cassette like "Peter Pan", "Mary Poppins", "The Wizard of Oz" and many others that I saw at a flea market today.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Cool. Thanks for letting me know.

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  22. I hope the problem with Steve's
server can be fixed soon so I can
    start enjoying Robin Hood.

    ReplyDelete
  23. He's working on it. He uploaded them all to MegaUpload, but now they are all saying "File Not Available". I'm not sure what he'll try next. I'm anxious as well, but we just have to be patient. Steve's doing a great job sharing all of these with us.

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  24. Dave, can anybody have a request for a "Beauty and the Beast" read-along? I haven't heard this one in ages. Maybe Steve or anyone who wants to look for it. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yes you can. I also have one on the way that is a sealed Beauty & The Beast Book & Cassette set.

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  26. Looking forward to the B&TB one, as that one's my favorite Disney movie. :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Maybe soon, I will do "The Fox and the Hound" read-along, because I got it at a flea market about 2 weeks ago.

    ReplyDelete
  28. That'd be good. I have it as well, but it isn't ripped to my PC yet. I got a bunch of Readalong Cassettes in a lot set that a seller threw in for free when I bought a sealed copy of Lady & The Tramp.

He sent me the following free Readalong Cassettes:
    Mother Goose Rhymes/Bambi
    Thumbelina
    The Jungle Book/The Rescuers
Fox & The Hound/Winnie The Pooh Honey Tree
    Winnie The Pooh
    Pinocchio/Three Little Pigs
    Sleeping Beauty/Lady & The Tramp
    101 Dalmatians/Treasure Island
Horton Hears a Who Audiobook Read By Dustin Hoffman

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  29. Dave, I found the "Beauty and the Beast" read-along tape. I had it for a long time and I will give you this one. This is the one that you can add it to your read-along collection.

This was from a cassette tape a long time ago and I will put it up. This one does not have the song "Be Our Guest", but I will put that up as just the story. Enjoy!

Coming soon: "The Fox and the Hound" read along.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thanks for that share. The B&TB I ordered says it has that song on it, but we'll see.

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  31. Here's another read along called "The Fox and the Hound". I got it at a flea market 2 weeks ago, but it sounds good. Here is the cover

And here is the entire story.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Can you do "The Fox and the Hound" read-along since I posted a link, please? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I guess you should add "The Fox and the Hound" and "Beauty and the Beast" to the "See, Hear, Read records" in your post.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Not sure why. I think they're fine where they're at.

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have The Lolliwinks album I can upload for you guys. I don't know if anybody knows about this or wants it, butlet me know & I'll post it up. It's a cassette rip.

    ReplyDelete
  36. mr80's,

I got your email. Please email the file to me. Thanks.

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  37. I am looking for the Lolliwinks album if Mr 80's would be willing to send it. If you could send it to lajaponaise7@yahoo.com it would be much appreciated!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I already shared Lolliwinks in a separate post Sheila ellis.

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  39. THANK YOU SO MUCH Dave! You know how I collect Disney and you've helped alot. They also bring back memories, because many of the Read-A-Longs (like Bambi) I owned and read many times with my little record player.

    THANKS again!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Dave, the links to "The Jungle Book" is wrong, here is the correct one:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?vcnnsm0yyy2

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks. Steve sent it to me without the http:// bit, and I just didn't een notice. I CC&P'd it just as he sent it. It's fixed now though.
    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  42. Can you send me a link to the
original Lady And The Tramp audio
story you uploaded on here? I like
it better than the current audio
file because I think vinyl sounds
    better than tape.

    ReplyDelete
  43. If I still have it I will yes. I'll have to check my files.

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  44. Wow, this is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long, long time! Well done!

Would there be any interest in some old Star Wars readalong stuff? I have Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Planet of the Hoojibs, and a few Ewoks ones.

I may be able to convert them and post them here (the cassette ones, anyway). Dave, you can e-mail me about this if you're interested. :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ripplin,

Thanks for the offer. Pretty much all of the Star Wars readalongs have already been shared at the Secret Cavern Of Readalong Treasures website though.

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  46. Wow, this is so awesome! Thank you for posting these. Many of us have these records & cassettes (scratched to heck and back and no way to play them). Now I have a way to share them with my kids.

Any idea where I can find:
There's No Such Thing as a Dragon
    Poky Little Puppy
    The Livly Little Rabbit
    Just Grandma and Me
    Just Grandpa and Me
    Just for You
    Merry Christmas Mom & Dad
    Large and Growly Bear

Or a lot of the other Disneyland Little Golden Book and Records? I mostly want the old songs that were original to the records/cassettes and unavailable anywhere else. I still find myself humming and singing them all the time.

I am looking forward to "Mother Goose Rhymes"!

    ReplyDelete
  47. You might try HERE, and HERE. Also ebay. Other than that I'm sorry but I can't help. Good luck.

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  48. I am looking forward to the Hobbit
and Rescuers read alongs and the
    Hobbit Disney Storyteller LP.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hey. When I was a kid (about 40+ years ago) a neighbor had a record that was the story of Pinocchio. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Disney but I could be mistaken. The lyrics to the song that was included went:
    Pinocch
    Pinocch
    Pinocchio
    We'll find you
If we have to go to Tokyo
    Come out, Come out
    Wherever you are,
    Pinocch
    Pinocch
    Pinocchio.

Has anyone ever heard of this record and can you tell me anything about it?

    Marcus Tee

    ReplyDelete
  50. I tried to download some of your read-alongs at mediafire.com, but it wasn't working, so it wouldn't let me. Besides, I was dying to hear those, but there aren't any signs of any read-along book pages, though.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Most of these have been shares from other blog readers. None of them have ever included the page scans. Having done scns of the readalong books before I know that it is a very time consuming effort to scan and edit 24 pages, and then upload them somewhere to share them.

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  52. How can I download some of your read-alongs from Mediafire? I don't understand why. Can you please give me some hints?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Any of the MediaFire links are the ones shared to me by friends. They may have expired. Give me a list ot titles, and I'll see what can be done.

  56. Dave,

How can I play "It's a Small World" at MediaFire? Can you scan it to megaupload.com, and maybe some pages to photobucket.com, including the rest, like I've ssen the "7 Dwarfs and Diamond Mind" pages before?

    Thanks,
    Karen Allen's Man

    ReplyDelete
  57. Karen Allen's Man,

I'll have to see if Steve can upload that file. I never got around to saving it myself. As for the pages I don't have those because Steve doesn't share those booklet pages That's one of the records I don't have a book for any longer myself.

  58. I last heard that storybook recording at the Ottawa Child Study Centre over twenty-six years ago, when I was just seven years old. It was good to hear it again, but all this time I thought the crew got back into the PALOMINO for their ride into the black hole.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I realize I'm replying to a post from a month ago, but I thought anyone who is looking for page scans of some of these readalongs might like to try http://www.readalongadventures.com.They're available in Flash book format, and some of the more recently added ones also have printable PDFs.

    ReplyDelete
  60. "It's a Small World" at MediaFire is fixed now thanks to one of our blog readers diligent research.

    Dave

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hey I am not sure if anyone here might know, but I used to have a record back in the seventies (don't know what year it was released or any info at all) but it had children s stories on it. It had a yellow label and it had "The Gingerbread Man" and "The Old Witch" along with others. It had sound effects in the reading and everything. If anyone knows what this might be could you email me at cheers@usa.com . Thank you so much for any information you might know on this record.

    ReplyDelete
  62. does anyone have the read along for "Beauty and the Beast: One Magical Christmas"??

    ReplyDelete
  63. I do, but I won't be able to share it until we get moved and settled in our new place the beginning of August. Plus I'll be sharing it at my YUKU Forum. Not here. I don't waste my time sharing here nay longer as the Trollish Idiot just has such links deleted like he's God's Gift to the music industry or something.

    Dave W.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Wow these are fantastic! I can't seem to get the link for the Fred & Barney Best Friends to work. Gosh these bring back memories!!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I had the Alice in Wonderland one as a kid, please could you re-up load it the link is removed on mediafire. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sorry. I don't re-post links here any longer as you can see they get deleted as quickly as I renew them. I only leave this Blog here as a reference, and to let people know where I share my files now at the YUKU Forum linked at the top of the forum.

    ReplyDelete
  67. HI- I have a bunch of records like these and I want my daughter to be able to play. Are there any kids record players around that you know if that I can buy? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Ebay is your best bet. I found one last Christmas for my Grnaddaughters to use for the same reason. It took them a while to warm up to it, but now they love it.

  69. i have the see hear read books withthe records in them i have the rescuers, sleeping beauty, snow white and the seven dwarfs, its a small world, more jungle book, and dumbo. i was curious as to how much they are worth.

    ReplyDelete
  70. According to the Disney Goldne Record Book around $10.00 each on average. Although I have found many of them much checper at times on ebay. I put a bunch of them on CD, and my Grandkids love them.

  71. Ah, how happy a lad I was when I relished in playing the living crap out of "Music In Your Soup" on the B-side of my copy of THE SEVEN DWARFS & THEIR DIAMOND MINE. Now, thanks to the magics of MP3s (and your magnificent blog), I can do so all over again via iTunes.

Thanks ever so much for bringing it (and "You're Never Too Old To Be Young") back into my life and regenerating an old childhood habit! :^)

    ReplyDelete
  72. Hey Dave, I was wondering if you have changed sites so I can continue to follow you. Also, I was wondering where, if possible, I could find an online audio file on Brer Rabbit and the Tar Baby, I see the cover in your Coming Soon! Thanks! Dennis

    ReplyDelete
  73. OH SHOOT! was really looking forward to It's a small world. is there any chance, I can find it else where? or anyone can send me the audio file?

    ReplyDelete
  74. I gave up on trying to keep my links active any longer as some people have made it their life's mission to see to it that they get deleted as soon as I renew them.

If everyone would like to see my links all active than join the fight for music sharing sites to freely share this music since the money grubbing record companies no longer want to do so.

  75. Marcus T
we had that album. I'm pretty sure my sister still has it. it starts out "this is the story of piiiinoooocccchioooo" right?
We bought a copy from Pic N Save in the 80's along with a bunch of other fairytale records. We played them all the time.
I keep harassing my sister to make me a copy for my toddler.

  76. The link to the hobbit file is dead, can you fix it?

    ReplyDelete
  77. This is a great blog. I'm starting to do some historical research on this genre of book. There's very little information available! If I may ask, how old was the oldest one you've seen? when do you think they started to be produced?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Sorry to say I've stopped renewing links. Some Trollish idiot has them deleted as soon as I post a new one. Maybe one day they'll get a life, and I can update the links.

The very first Look, See Hear released was numbered 301 and it was "Story Of Sleeping Beauty". It and several others were all released in November of 1965. The best resource for researching Disney records is the book called "The Golden Age Of Walt Disney Records". The 1st Edition ran from 1933 to 1988 which is the edition that I have. There is a later edition that continued up into the 1990's.

    Dave W.

  79. BTW - there was an earlier 200 Series of Disneyland records, but none of them were Disney Stories. It was called "Little Golden Book And Records". The first one in that Series was "The Saggy Baggy Elephant".

  81. Help! Please tell me I'm not going crazy. As a child in the late 70's I used to have a vinyl record (maybe a 45" i cant remember) But it was a story with a song in it "Quack A Moo Baa Cluck A Phobia" - it is a story about school children who go to a farm and the farmer has been bitten by a bug behind the ear and he gets his animal sounds mixed up.....does anyone remember it? I can't find it on the net anywhere....
