Great stuff. I'm still planning on doing a video blog on the show and tell...when my wife ever finds the power cord for the video camera. :(
ReplyDeleteThanks Rob. BTW I had been trying to get in touch with you about your Show 'N Tell, but i was able to find one for $40.00 on ebay. I got it today, and it works ok, but the speed lever is shot, and only plays the right speed, and a chipmunk speed...lol. The "N" setting doesn't work at all. There's also some kind of grinding noise when the platter turns. so I'm asking the seller to either give me my money back or give me a partial refund so I can use the money to find the parts the viewer may need.
ReplyDeleteI also got the Fisher Price Movie Viewer today, and it works great.

I have a show n tell that is not wirking. Where do you go for parts and repairs?
ReplyDeleteYou can try Googling for them. Many of the parts can be found for sale on ebay as well. As for someone to repair them I wish I knew. I guess they aren't too difficult though. I saw an auction listing the other day for a viewer where the seller said they cleaned one up themselves and got it working again. I know I have seen the viewer needles, idler wheels and bulbs on ebay. good luck. I was finally able to acquire a Viewer that works perfectly still. Not a bad price either - $40.00 with shipping.

Hi, I just put one on Ebay tonight (July 24) that works well. You can find it under seller:
ReplyDeleteitsmelori58. It's only on for 7 dyas so if someone was looking for one, I hope you can get it in time.
I just love those types of things and wasn't sure I wanted to sell it after buying it. We had a blast trying it out and playing it.
Just thought I would post if someone was looking for one.
Thanks for that info. I was finally able to find two that worked for very good prices considering. I'm keeping one here for Grandchildren's visits. The other one is going to my Mother-In-Law's house for our Grandkids when they visit her, which is about 3 times a month. Her house is where they already discovered the awesome technology of the 1970's Viewmaster. And where our only grand son first discovered Matchbox cars (my own from the 1960's and 70's).
ReplyDeleteThis Christmas the Grandkids will be discovering Disney Readalong records with their first portable record player, Give-A-Show Projectors, Viewmaster Projector, and the Fisher Price Movie Theater Viewer.

I am trying to find and old show n tell record with the song
ReplyDeleteThe Animals Secret.
Anyone out there know of it or can help.
I have been looking for a show N tell record with the song Animal's Secret on it. It was a favorite of my mother's and as she gets a little bit older I would love to give it to her on a CD as a present. Anyone out there have any idea where to find it.
ReplyDeleteIt may have been on the flip side of Peter Cottentail, or who knows what other record.
The song was called "The Animal's secret" - my email is theatricalproductions@yahoo.com and my name is Mark
Any help would be wonderful.
I keep looking anytime I see some listed Mark, and I still haven't been able to find it for you. Unfortuantely any lists I've seen don't name the B sides to any of these Show N Tell records. Sorry.

Does anyone remember/have info on the Mortie Mouse's birthday party story? It was one of my all time favorites and I'm trying to track one down.
ReplyDeleteI am searching for one of my all time favorite Show 'n' Tell stories - the one about Mortimer Mouse's birthday party. Has anyone seen one floating around out there (I don't remember the name.)?
ReplyDeleteThat's a new one on me Jennifer. Have you looked on ebay? That's where I was able to get all of my Show 'N Tell sets from. Jon at Random Forms Of Geekery Blog may know of it.

Does anyone know of a complete list of programs issued for the GE Show'n Tell? I have about 50 or so and am developing a list of probably several hundred more gleened from the back covers and eBay. There appearantly were several companies issuing programs over the years including General Learing Corp., Child Guidance, CBS, and someone else issuing Bible stories. I'd be interested in sharing lists to compile a complete list. Hope to hear from somebody. Harry
ReplyDeleteI did a scan of one of the back covers in an earlier post HERE.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know there is no such compiled list online though no.

Heya,
ReplyDeleteI could really use the B side of Mickey and the beanstalk for my overwrought little sister. It would make her christmas. I think it's called Make believe Places
Someone else might have that one, but I don't. Sorry.
