THE SUGAR BEARS!! The 1972 Vinyl LP!

DADDYKIN HAD THIS TO SAY WHEN HE SHARED THIS LP:

"Hi. The cartoon gum craze was spilling over into commercials by 1972. This band is fronted by Sugar Bear, the Post Cereals icon. I don't know a lot about the musicians involved, but Kim Carnes cut her teeth on this album years before becoming a solo artist. Glen Frey of Eagles fame lent a hand with the production side. The songs are pretty infectious pop, especially the hit single "You Are the One." There were cereal box records available as well as this, their only album. From my vinyl rip of the Big Tree Records album, I give you The Sugar Bears! Original album cover artwork, front and back, and a pic of a cereal box record are included in the folder. Enjoy. TRACK LISTING: 01. HAPPINESS TRAIN, 02. ALL OF MY LIFE, 03. RIGHT ON, 04. FEATHER BALLOON, 05. KINDA FRIENDLY THINGS, 06. LOVE YOU'VE BEEN A LONG TIME COMING, 07. YOU ARE THE ONE, 08. THE TWO OF US TOGETHER, 09. IT'S A GOOD DAY, 10. SOMEONE LIKE YOU, 11. ANYONE BUT YOU."

Thanks for posting this awesome record. Happiness Train takes me right back to 1972!

Thanks so much for this. I was literally walking the dogs this evening and "Love - You're A Long Time Comin" popped into my head. A little searching for lyrics, and presto, here I am! Wow! I'm sure I haven't heard this since 1972.

I BEGGED my mom to buy me this record for days. I can remember it was a tough sell because it was full price ($5.99) at Sears. I was 5 years old and it was my first "rock" album. I listened to it constantly. MMMM that's good corn! Thanks so much.

This record album is STILL one of my most prized pieces in my collection.

I enjoy the single immensely but question the Glen Hardin remark. Did you mean Glen Frey of the Eagles? Glen Hardin was Elvis Presley's arranger and piano player for the King's last seven years. I dont't know if that helps or muddies the situation. Good stuff nonetheless. According to a source Mike Settle of the First Edition did lead vocals on You Are The One. I just love totally useless information but it's great starter talk at get togethers!!

This commentary came from Daddykin so that was his error that I didn't catch. Thanks.
