END OF THE ROAD FOLKS??? OR MAYBE NOT!!!

IT'S BEEN SUGGESTED I TRY A DONATION BUTTON TO PAY FOR MUSIC FILE HOSTING FEES. I HAVE DONE SO AT TOP OF THE RIGHT HAND COLUMN. WE'LL SEE HOW THAT GOES. I THANK ALL OF THOSE VERY GENEROUS DONATIONS THAT HAVE COME IN SO FAR.

I ALSO ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO DOWNLOAD AS MANY OF MY MEGAUPLOAD SHARES AS THEY CAN. I GET REWARD POINTS FOR EVERY "UNIQUE" (NOT SURE WHAT THAT MEANS) DOWNLOAD. I CAN CASH IN 20,000 POINTS EACH MONTH, AND GET 1 MORE MONTH OF FREE PREMIUM MEGAUPLOAD (WHICH GIVES ME 25OGB OF FILE STORAGE). AT PRESENT I HAVE ABOUT 32,000 POINTS LEFT FROM PAST DOWNLOADS. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THE OUTPOURING OF KIND WORDS, ENCOURAGEMENT AND SUPPORT.

NOT SURE HOW MANY OF YOU ARE AWARE THAT MY WIFE AND I ARE BOTH DISABLED AND ON SSI DISABILITY. WELL WHAT WITH THE RISING COST OF FUEL, GROCERIES, RENT, ETC.., ETC.. I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO CLOSE DOWN EVERY WEBSITE I OWN THAT IS PAID FOR IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. SO SADLY ANYMORE MUSIC SHARES WILL NOT BE TAKING PLACE AT THIS, OR MY OTHER 2 SHARING BLOGS, OR MY 250FREE.COM WEBSITES. AS A MATTER OF FACT I WILL PROBABLY BE PUTTING MY ENTIRE MUSIC COLLECTION UP FOR SALE AT MY BLUE-JAY WEBSITE. THIS BLOG IS FREE SO IT SHALL REMAIN HERE. HOWEVER, COME THE END OF JUNE, I WOULD SAY, I WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO PAY FOR THE SITES WHERE I PAY TO HAVE MY MANY MUSIC FILES HOSTED. I POST THIS NOTICE NOT FOR SYMPATHY, BUT TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT YOU SHOULD GRAB EVERY MUSIC FILE I HAVE AT MY 3 BLOGS & MY 25OFREE.COM WEBSITES WHILE YOU CAN. COME THE END OF JUNE THEY WILL NO LONGER HAVE VALID DOWNLOAD LINKS. SORRY TO HAVE TO TAKE THINGS TO THIS EXTREME, BUT THAT IS HOW THINGS ARE GOING NOW WITH OUR ECONOMY. IT'S BEEN FUN, AND I HATE TO DO ALL OF THIS, BUT SHORT OF LOSING MY MARRIAGE OVER THE FIGHTS WE'VE HAD LATELY OVER FINANCES, I HAVE NO CHOICE. THANK YOU TO ALL OF MY MANY READERS AND FANS OVER THESE PAST 4 OR 5 YEARS. DO KEEP IN TOUCH SOME HOW. THANKS!!!
DAVE

Dave, I am VERY sorry to hear this!! I understand you have to do what you have to do--this is only a hobby, after all--but your shares will be sorely missed. The entertainment I've received from your blogs is one of the reasons I started my own.

Even without the music, I hope you continue to post your insights and links. I made a written list of all the music I wanted to download from your sites--looks like I better get hoppin'.

Best of luck to you!

I'm sorry to hear that Dave. I really enjoy your blogs. I hope things turn around for you soon.

Take care.

Dave, that's a real bummer... have you considered setting up a PayPal "tip jar" on your blogs to help finance the file shares?

If you still have stuff you'd like to share but haven't, I do have some space on my Comcast account that I don't use, which could be direct-linked to for stuff you wanted to offer for a select period of time... you'd only need to mail me CDs with the MP3s you want to share (I have 1GB of space there, but am only using 5% of it right now). Let me know, ok?

I have an idea of where you're coming from... I had the time to download a good bit of your stuff because a health issue kept me out of work for too many moons. (Thankfully, I recently found a place that allows me to earn enough to keep afloat, finally...)

My best wishes go out to you... I hope it all turns around, eventually... The family is the most important thing... While I've been a devoted follower of your musical offers (& those "Firefly" pages), I'd rather you & yours were well & happy, even if it means you never post another tune. Like Philly says, I do hope you keep posting whatever words of wisdom (or childish silliness) you have to offer, on all the blogs you have...

You've made my most recent Halloweens, Christmases, & times with my niece & nephew brighter & happier through your various posts on the various blogs, and through your generosity, these obscure recordings will live on & bring the joy, which I believe was your intent in the first place... Well done.

Dave, I personally am sad to see this blog go. You've posted some wonderful Disney LPs, to which I've had and still have. You inspired me to create my own blog devoted to classic Disney LPs. I do thank you for sharing all of these wonderful musical treasures and I wish you and your wife the best. Take care. stay happy whatever you do and god Bless you. :D

Hey Dave,

Sorry to hear about everything, but I understand.

I asked you awhile back about the Davy Crocket readalong book which features the Wellingtons singing the song on the second side. Since you won't be posting anymore, do you happen to know anybody else that may have that? If not the story, at least the song. The copy of the song I ripped from a Youtube video was so scratched up, it wasn't worth saving, and I couldn't remove the pops and cracks in the sound with my software. Please let me know. Thanks, and I hope things get better soon.

Jon K.,
Thanks. I'm thinking what i may do is just post photo scans of all of the recordings i have ripped to my PC, and take requests for temporary uploads through ShareBee.com, MegaUpload, RapidShare, etc. I'll have to see what happens over the next month or so with my reward Points totals at MegaUpload.

I do know for sure though that my paid 250free.com web pages will have to go for sure. The free versions of their accounts don't even have enough room to build a decent set of webpages with them. They have 250MB free, thus their name. Most of my websites can eat that up in a heartbeat though, and then the amount of bandwidth that comes with the free accounts is next to nothing. So they will be gone by end of June for sure.

Hello Dave,

As a reader of this, and your other blogs, I have truly appreciated what you have given the community over the past years. As I am sad to see you go, I also understand. Being on a fixed income myself, with some unexplained health issues, you're not the only one who has to wonder how to survive the next months.

Since Megaupload rewards you for downloads, maybe one thing you can do is to encourage all readers to download as much as they can, hoping that you'll never have to pay for an account through them, that you'll have enough reward points to keep hosting there. Just a thought.

Either way, thanks and God Bless and good luck in any future endeavors.

I just donated $50 to your blog for you! How much does it cost per month to actually host your sites?

Maybe we can keep it going by donations? Get off your asses people and donate! This is a great site for material that most wouldn't have access to!!

Just recently stumbled upon your blog and certainly hate to see you go. All the best to you...

This time of year I spend around $50.00 a month for the monthly fees and extra bandwidth. The Fall months though (Sept - Dec) I have spent as much as $100.00 each month because my Halloween websites get so much traffic every day during those months.

Got your donation Scott, and it is greatly appreciated. It will keep me going until end of August at least. I'm hoping with a few donations, and being able to spread the word about my reward points accumulation that I may be able to keep afloat. I told my wife, and she's agreed that as long as nothing is going to hurt our finances again then I can keep the music sharing sites and web pages going. I know some folks don't like MegaUpload too well, but it was the first host I found that had the reward point ssytem that has kept me going even this long. Unfortunately that doesn't help with my 250Free.com websites like "Forbidden Crypts Of Music", "Disney Music Link Page", "Dave's Free Halloween Gifs" and "Dave's Free Halloween Sounds". Thanks again for all the kind words.

I know the feeling of being financially strapped, Dave. But at the beginning of the month I will donate to the cause. I like your site and very grateful for you getting The Three Little Pigs album online.

Hi Dave,

I'm very sad to see you go, I missed you guys since I did put all of my Disneyland LP material to your blog as well as a some read-along books to your site.

I guess you should carry a torch to "terrance t" for the blog and site. He's a great guy who posted the same Disney LP material as I did.

I missed you and everyone on your site, but you'll be looking forward to new things in the future.

I might as well go to every yard sales, flea markets and thrift stores to look for every Disneyland LP to find and put it on Terrance's blog.

I don't need PayPal, but I might save money to spend it wisely. Good luck to you!

If you enjoyed it, please check out my videos of my Disneyland collection that I just put that up.

Thanks and good luck in the near future.

Man I'm sorry to read this. Your blogs are awesome resources... but I do understand. I'm also on SSI disability, and so although I have taken advantage of your many great shares, I can't afford to donate to help you keep sharing. I am sorry for that. You've done such great work... but taking care of you and yours is certainly more important.

Good luck whatever happens...

Brooklyn Mouse,

Thanks. You can still send me your stuff though becuase it looks like now that I will not have to stop sharing at least until August or maybe even September. I'm hoping by September 1st I can be rid of the 25oFree.com websites that cost me almost $100.00 a month to keep them open because of the heavy bandwdith useage.

Anyway, do please keep sending me your music to share.

Dave

Dave, Has anybody remember the LP "Yankee Doodle Mickey"? I found this one taken from the "Disney Songtape" blog and it was posted by bigbirdfan. It was also sent out by Terrance Tucker (smallworldguy). In honor of July 4th, here is a link to it .

Thanks. Yes I had seen that, and downloaded it already. I had been looking to buy it, but when I found it and Disney Songtape Blog I decided I didn't need to.
