My Older Brother Passed Away

My older Brother Jim passed away this past Tuesday of heart failure. He was 56. He had been ill for a long while with only 4% kidney function for around 2 years now. The past couple of months he had been so sick, and not able to keep food down that he missed several dialysis treatments. I think it was the last straw for his body to take. He was finally admitted to the hospital in Rochester, NY last weekend. His heart stopped around 5 AM EST on Tuesday, and they never were able to get it restarted.

Please keep his wife Luann in your thoughts and prayers as Jim's death was totally unexpected so soon. She is now left holding the bag trying to straighten out her life on her own from now on. Jim also leaves behind his Daughter Kari who is 25. Needless to say I haven't much been in the mood for any kind of music ripping lately. Jim was cremated yesterday, and his wife will take his ashes with her back to PA where she's from. Thanks all!

I offer you my condolences for the loss of your brother and I send you my prayers for God to relieve your families of the pain of that loss.
I just discovered your site which brought back so many memories of my youth, a time of innocence. These HB records kept me company and brought me comfort in very difficult times I went through in the sixties. Thank with all my heart for the joy you gave me.
May God bless you and your family,

Thanks all!

What's sad for me is I was a possible match to donate a kidney. However because of my diabetes, and all the meds I take for high blood pressure and arthritis they wouldn't even consider me to donate.

One word of advice for you applehead. If you ever get put on dialysis don't miss even a single treatment. That's one thing my Brother was bad about. Still by the time they caught his kidney problems he was already down to only 5%. He had dropped down to 4% by the time he died from a blood clot going to his heart.

Hi there,
I too would like to offer my condolences to you and your family.
My father passed away a numder of years ago do to heart, kidney and others problems. So I can feel your loss in a way.
I recently came across this site through the album "Mr. Magoo in Hi-Fi". You have a fabulous site and it is sad there are others who are negative to it. I did sign up to Yuku as you suggested, however I am not sure what it is or used for.
Anyway, I will continue to check out this post, check in to Yuku (for whatever it is suppose to be for, and I read you have 2 other posts. These I will have to check out too.
Again, I hope all goes well with your family and boy I wish I was one of your grandchildren. They sure are lucky to have you as grandparents. You have a lot of love to share. So take care of yourself not only for you but for all your loved ones.
All the best...
Bryan

Hello Dave, I'm sorry to read about the death of your brother. Please allow me extend my condolences.
I just came across your site by way of a Google search for the Flinstones album Modern Stone Age Melodies. I was so pleased to find your post that included the zip file with all the songs. I have been listening to them for the past hour. Boy, it sure takes me back to my youth.
In looking around your blog, I saw one of your post where you mentioned having a file of The Hobbit TV Movie Soundtrack songs. Is there some place where I can download that file, or some way that I could get a copy? I am a big Tolkien fan, and I absolutely loved cartoon movie of The Hobbit. (We own it on DVD and watch at least a couple of times a year.)
I looked at your profile to see if there was an email address listed so that I could try to reach you. While there, I noticed that it says that you're in the Southern Tier. I live in Endicott. Where are you? Boy-oh-boy, it's a small world!
Thank you for taking the time to read all of my ramblings. I hope to hear from you soon regarding the soundtrack of The Hobbit. Best regards, Jay

Sorry I haven't ever had the chance to digitalize that Hobbit LP set yet.

I was living in the Elmira area, but my wife and I moved to Peoria, IL last year. I just neve got around to updating my Profile.

This is my first time on the site, and sad to hear of your loss during the holiday season.
The best you all can do is remember him with smiles instead of sadness in the future.
Peace.
