HERE'S PHOTOS OF THE GOODYEAR LPS I'M MISSING. I JUST ORDERED VOLUMES 10, 11, 12, 13 AND 15 FROM AN ONLINE SELLER. ONCE I GET THEM RIPPED TO MY PC I'LL SHARE THEM HERE WITH THE OTHERS. I'VE FOUND SEVERAL PLACES THAT SHOW THEY HAVE VOLUME 16 FOR SALE, BUT THEY ARE OLD WEBSITES, AND DON'T SEEM TO ACTUALLY STILL HAVE A COPY OF IT:

Best of the Great Songs of Christmas Album Ten (1970) aka Goodyear Volume 10. "Although the GSC series often repeated performances from album to album, this was the only edition marketed as such."

The Joyous Songs of Christmas (1971) aka Goodyear Volume 11. Since this was the first album in the series to not bear the name 'The Great Songs of Christmas', it was thought that 'Joyous' would be the new name for the series in the Seventies. Instead, this was the only release with the 'Joyous' name:

Christmas Is... (1972) aka Goodyear Volume 12:

The Many Moods of Christmas (1973) aka Goodyear Volume 13:

Henry Mancini Selects Great Songs of Christmas (1975) aka Goodyear Volume 15. The first Christmas LP released on RCA instead of Columbia. May also have been available in tape form as well as LP

Great Songs of Christmas Perry Como and Eugene Ormandy (1977) aka Goodyear Volume 16. "This may have been a very limited release as it is not commonly found and was not marketed in all areas." I have found it for sale a couple of places, but no one has returned my emails as of yet saying it is still available to purchase.

VINTAGE CHRISTMAS - SPINNER ORNAMENTS & PUTZ STYLE HOUSES

HERE'S A COUPLE OF PHOTOS OF THE VINTAGE CHRISTMAS SPINNER ORNAMENTS MY LATE PATERNAL GRANDMOTHER GAVE ME. THESE WERE ALWAYS ON HER AND MY GRANDFATHER'S TREE EVERY YEAR THROUGH THE 1960'S AND 1970'S. ALONG WITH A COUPLE STRINGS OF 1960'S BUBBLE LIGHTS THAT DIDN'T SURVIVE THE 1980'S. BACK WHEN EVERYONE STILL USED EITHER C-7 OR C-9 CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTS, THESE WOULD HANG ABOVE THE BULB. THE BULBS GOT SO HOT THAT THE HEAT WOULD MAKE THE LITTLE PROPELLER INSIDE SPIN LIKE CRAZY. I'VE TRIED BUYING SOME MORE OF THESE RECENTLY. THEY NORMALLY GO ANYWHERE FROM $20.00 EACH TO AS MUCH AS $200.00 FOR A SET OF 12 STILL IN THEIR ORIGINAL BOX. THEY BRING BACK FOND MEMORIES, BUT NOT ENOUGH SO TO PAY THAT KIND OF MONEY FOR THEM....LOL.

HERE'S A PHOTO OF THE PUTZ STYLE HOUSES I INHERITED FROM MY PARENTS. THESE CAME TO OUR HOUSE SOMETIME IN THE EARLY 1960'S. MY DAD CAN'T REMEMBER FROM WHERE OR WHEN EXACTLY THEY WERE PURCHASED. BELOW IS A PHOTO OF THE 5 I HAD OUT IN MY HOME THIS YEAR. IT IS A SET OF 8, BUT THE OTHER 3 ARE PACKED AWAY SOMEWHERE IN STORAGE.

BASIL RATHBONE - "A CHRISTMAS CAROL" (COLUMBIA RECORDS SET M-521)

EARLIER THIS MONTH I MENTIONED HERE THAT THERE WAS AN LP OF BASIL RATHBONE DOING "THE CHRISTMAS CAROL". WELL KIDDIE RECORDS WEEKLY WAS KIND ENOUGH TO POST IT FOR US ALL TO SHARE. THE WEBSITE IS NOT SET UP SO I CAN LINK DIRECTLY TO AN INDIVIDUAL RECORD SHARE. YOU CAN GO TO THE 2007 PAGE HERE, AND SCROLL DOWN TO THE END OF THE LEFT HAND COLUMN TO WEEK 51 OF DECEMBER 2007. THERE YOU WILL SEE THE LINK TO GRAB THIS GREAT LP. THANKS KIDDIE RECORDS WEEKLY. HERE'S AN IMAGE OF THE LP FRONT COVER:

ATTEMPTED SLIDE SCAN MY OLDER BROTHER (IN BACK), SISTER AND I AT CHRISTMAS 1968

THIS WAS MY FEEBLE ATTEMPT AT TRYING TO SCAN ONE OF MY DAD'S OLD CHRISTMAS SLIDES. HE HAS A MICROTEK SLIDE SCANNER, AND IT CAME OUT EVEN WORSE. ANWAY THIS IS US GETTING READY FOR CHURCH THE SUNDAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS 1968 (NOTICE AT TOP OF THE PHOTO THE TIP OF THE WING OF ONE OF THOSE COMMENSERATE FLYING DUCKS EVERY GOOD 1960'S HOME HAD TO HAVE):

THESE ARE KIND OF SIMILAR TO THE DUCKS I WAS TALKING ABOUT ALTHOUGH MY PARENTS WERE A LITTLE MORE DETAILED IN BOTH THE BODY AND THE WING DESIGNS:

HAPPY HOLLYDAZE CHRISTMAS NOVELTY SONGS

I STARTED FINDING THESE CHRISTMAS NOVELTY SONGS ALL OVER THE WEB. SO I DECIDED INSTEAD OF SHARING A FEW OF THEM ONE AT A TIME THAT I WOULD PUT THEM ALL TOEGETHER INTO A COLLECTION FOR YOU ALL TO DOWNLOAD. THESE 38 SONGS ARE JUST A DROP IN THE BUCKET COMPARED TO WHAT IS ACTUALLY OUT THERE. I THINK BOB RIVERS ALONE HAS RELEASED ABOUT 100 OF THESE SONGS. THERE'S ONLY ONE SONG THAT I WANTED TO INCLUDE, BUT COULDN'T FIND ANYWHERE, AND THAT IS "THE HAPPY REINDEER" BY DANCER, PRANCER AND NERVOUS. ANYWAY. HAPPY HOLLYDAZE:

DONDE ESTA SANTA CLAUS? LIP-SYNC VIDEO

I FOUND THIS VERY TOUCHING VIDEO ON YOUTUBE. IT WAS PLACED THERE BY THE FATHER OF THE BOY, JASON, IN THE VIDEO. IT WAS SHARED IN HONOR OF HIS SON WHO DIED IN APRIL 2007. THANK YOU DAD AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOUR WHOLE FAMILY!!!

"THAT CHRISTMAS FEELING" J.C.PENNEY (COLUMBIA SPECIAL PRODUCTS P11853 1973)

LIKE W. T. GRANT'S DID, J. C. PENNEY HAD SEVERAL CHRISTMAS LPS THEY PUT OUT WHEN I WAS A KID IN THE 1970's. I'VE ALREADY SHARED "THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS". ANOTHER ONE THEY RELEASED WAS CALLED "THE GOLDEN GLOW OF CHRISTMAS". MY DAD HAS THIS ONE, BUT I HAVEN'T GOT A RIP OF IT ON HAND. HERE'S THE COVER OF THAT ONE:

THE LAST ONE I'VE FOUND REFERENCE TO WAS FROM 1974 CALLED "THE BRIGHTEST STARS OF CHRISTMAS" SHOWN HERE:

A MERRY MANCINI CHRISTMAS (RCA VICTOR LSP-3612 1966)

"Fans of Henry Mancini will find Merry Mancini Christmas to be an ideal holiday record. Released in 1966, at the height of his popularity, the album is filled with the lush arrangements that are his aural signature, and they sound perfect when matched with these 11 Christmas medleys and carols. It is a warm, appealing record that blends easily into the background, making it a good choice for holiday gatherings of all sorts. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide"

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE SEEN THIS LP WITH THIS PARTICULAR COVER. MOST I'VE SEEN ONLINE HAD THIS COVER:
