ROWAN & MARTIN'S LAUGH-IN!! Both TV-Cast Albums!

I RE-POST THIS IN MEMORY OF DICK MARTIN'S PASSING...RIP

DADDYKIN HAD THIS TO SAY ABOUT THIS LP:

"Hi. "From beautiful downtown Burbank," I give you LAUGH-IN! This 1968-1973 NBC-TV variety series was a groundbreaker when it first aired. Comedians Dan Rowan and Dick Martin hosted the hour-long collection of comedy skits and musical numbers. The show's colorful, psychedelic backdrop provided a stage for everything from political commentary to cultural humor, all delivered in one-liners. Eclectic street performer Tiny Tim came to prominence here and scored a hit with "Tiptoe Through The Tulips." Comedian Pat Paulsen ran for President on the show. "Tricky Dick" Nixon made an appearance, inviting America to "sock it to him." These landmark events were only part of the show's offbeat appeal. The catch phrases were stars themselves- "You bet your bippie," "Free love doesn't pay," and the aforementioned "Sock it to me" were just a few of the phrases uttered by millions at the time. "Laugh-In" was a launching pad for many famous comedians including Arte Johnson, Goldie Hawn, Lily Tomlin, Ruth Buzzi, Henry Gibson, Joanne Worley and Judy Carne among many others. In 1968, Epic Records released a TV-cast album called "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In." Folder #1 gives you this entire album (thanks to my friend, Bob Haldeman, for contributing his CD-quality files). Folder #2 gives you the 1969 Reprise Records album, "Laugh-In '69." The quality is a bit rough here, as this one is from my vinyl transfer. The grooves were so tight that I decided to cut it as two long tracks. There is one skip on Side One, but I let it stay for the sake of completeness. This folder also contains the album cover artwork for both LP's. Enjoy! TRACK LISTING: Disc One- 01. CUCKOO LAUGH-IN WORLD, 02. MONOLOGUE AND COCKTAIL PARTY, 03. NEW TALENT, 04. PERSONALITY OF THE WEEK, 05. NEWS- PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE, 06. ETCETERA, 07. HALF TIME, 08. HERE COME THE JUDGE, 09. THE OTHER COCKTAIL PARTY, 10. SOCK IT TO ME- POTPOURRI, 11. MOD MOD WORLD, 12. THE CUCKOOS, 13. GOODNIGHT DICK./ Disc Two- 01. THE BIG COCKTAIL PARTY, 02. LAUGH-IN STRIKES AGAIN, 03. AN AMERICAN INSTITUTION, 04. CHILDREN OF LAUGH-IN, 05. THE NEWS, 06. WELL RING MY CHIMES, 07.
